Flow: 175cfs/below Ruedi Reservoir

Conditions: It’s been no secret lately that the Frying Pan has been fishing ridiculously well. The flows have finally come down with green drakes/flavs, PMDs, BWOs, and caddis all hatching in good numbers. If anything that’s the hard part – fishing through the overlapping hatches. Crowds are heavy still with the lightest pressure being in the evening hours once the midday hatches have subsided. Light tippets of 6x and 7x are standard fare. Look for the majority of rising fish to be seen from 11-4. Evening rusty spinner falls hinder on having low winds and dry/hot weather. Though not a popular technique on the Fryingpan, the streamer fishing has been picking up with post-hatch fish still looking up and wanting meals. It’s also a nice change of pace from light tippet dry fly fishing.
