Flow: 63cfs/below Ruedi Reservoir

Conditions: Flows have decreased to their winter levels. The river is obviously very low and very clear. After a banner September and slower October, the fishing has picked back up with dependable hatches of BWOs and midges. The crowds of summer are finally gone too and anglers can again find some elbow room.  Overcast and warm afternoons are yielding the heaviest hatches. Light tippets of 6/7x are again mandatory. Shallow and light two-fly nymph rigs are picking up plenty of fish too. Mysis shrimp are always relevant immediately below the dam. Egg patterns are beginning to produce along the lower river, as is the streamer bite – it is fall after all!
