Colorado River –

Flow: 9,150 cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: She’s very big right now but flows are falling and fishing is getting better and better daily. The biggest key right now is to simply be fishing shallow and soft water – flies are somewhat secondary to location. The clarity is poor but there’s enough bugs hatching right now that fish are being caught. Wade fishing is more productive by a long shot right now with the better float fishing taking place on the Roaring Fork. If you insist on floating, plan on pulling over to fish. Green drakes, caddis and PMDs are all hatching right snow. Lesser hatches of stoneflies are being seen also. It’s big water, big flies and big fish down here right now.
