Flow: 204cfs/below Ruedi Reservoir

Conditions: While other fisheries in the area are struggling with runoff conditions, the Frying Pan River remains low and clear with good fishing though crowds are certainly high. The majority of hatches are taking place during the afternoons from about noon-4pm. BWOs are of most importance closer to the dam with PMDs dominating the middle and lower sections of river. Lesser hatches of caddis are being seen from top to bottom with evenings yielding the best opportunities for rising fish. Nymphing prior to the hatches using small and dark BWO nymphs trailed with black or gray emergers has been best. The mysis shrimp fishing has been much improved with the increase in water flows. Light tippets of 6x and 7x fluorocarbon is pretty standard Frying Pan fare.
