Roaring Fork River

Flow: 931/Aspen (Jaffe Park), 1,540cfs/Basalt, 3,450cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: It’s go time!!! Green Drakes, caddis and PMD’s are all hatching in good numbers along the lower river below Carbondale. The water flows are still very high but side channels and soft pockets of water are opening up daily and congregating the fish. The water clarity is good right now even below the Crystal. Anglers can count on having slow mornings giving way to good afternoons and EPIC evening ‘lightnin’ rounds’ at dusk! Floating anglers – the water is still rippin’ out there so plan on pulling over frequently to fish as fishing on-the-go is not really happening yet. Bring your DryShake, headlamp and get ready to sit back watch the show unfold in the evening hours! We’re expecting this to be one of the best green drake years that we’ve had in a while due to the abundance of water and habitat. Get out there and enjoy it!
