Roaring Fork River

Flow: 555/Aspen, 943/Basalt, 1,750cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: The river is still maintaining good clarity above Carbondale and the Crystal River. Stoneflies, green drake nymphs, caddis, worms and attractors like princes, rainbow warriors and the like are all fishing well. In the higher water don’t overthink it too hard; it’s all about fishing the soft and slow water with a halfway decent drift. The stretch of river from Basalt to Carbondale has been seeing the most action lately including some dry fly windows. The streamer bite has been good with the fish pushed up on the banks. With the low snowpack these high water conditions won’t last long this year. We are just a week or two away from some amazing fishing. Bring on the green drakes!!! Let’s get the season goin’!

The fly shop is loaded to the gills with a ton of new fly tying merch, new rods and reels, new logo apparel and so, so much more. Swing by and help support your local independant fly shop!

Our guides know the Roaring Fork River intimately – let us give you the highlight of your vacation!
