Colorado River –

Flow: 2,674 cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: The river has dropped significantly and is now low and clear. The past three weeks yielded the best early summer season of fishing and hatches that we’ve had in several years! We hope you were able to get in on the action! With area rivers flowing at 1/3 of average, we are now seeing water temperatures rising into the 60’s daily. It is paramount to get an early morning start now when water temps are at their coolest and the fish are the most active. Fish responsibly. In the coming weeks expect better fishing to take place on higher elevation waters. For now though, we are seeing good stonefly hatches consisting of large goldens and smaller yellow sallies. PMDs and caddis shouldn’t be overlooked either. Anglers would be wise to take advantage of the great dry fly fishing currently taking place. When nymphing, we are commonly fishing a rubberleg stone in tandem with smaller PMD, caddis or sally nymphs.

The fly shop is loaded to the gills with a ton of new fly tying merch, new rods and reels, new logo apparel and so, so much more. Swing by and help support your local independent fly shop!

Our guides know the Colorado River intimately – let us give you the highlight of your vacation!
