Roaring Fork River
Flow: 140/Aspen, 351/Basalt, 490cfs/Glenwood Springs
Conditions: Much improved over the past week with the overcast and rain. In general, we’re nymphing ‘tiny and shiny’ out there with some favorites including Tung. Sparklewing RS2s, Cheesman Emergers, Lightsabers and Frenchies. PMDs and caddis are still on the board now coupled with the BWOs. When flows dip below 400cfs float fishing becomes a serious challenge and we fish the Colorado. Streamer fishing has been pretty steady in the early mornings and with the right weather often all day long. Black, yellow and olive are go-to colors at this time of year. The hopper fishing has generally been slow lately but I think that’s been more due to the recent weather and should improve.
The fly shop is loaded to the gills with a ton of new fly tying merch, new rods and reels, new logo apparel and so, so much more. Swing by and help support your local independant fly shop!
