Roaring Fork River-

Flow: 160 cfs/Jaffe Park, 242 cfs/Basalt, 594 cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: Below the Crystal River (Carbondale) conditions are day to day with runoff. Cool nights recently have yielded fairly clear water along the lower river for the time of year. Expect runoff conditions to linger until early/mid June. Like the Colorado, typical high-water runoff flies are best right now. The caddis hatch has been steady on all warm and sunny days lately. Skating your caddis dries are often paramount to success. Blue wing olives are often seen before and during the caddis hatch also. The upper river from Basalt to Aspen is clear with increasing water levels. Fishing has been pretty solid with caddis, eggs and BWOs being the most dominant foods available.
