Crystal River –

Flow: 1,520 cfs/Redstone, 1,690 cfs/Carbondale

Conditions: Currently high but clarity has greatly improved. We will undoubtedly have an amazing summer of fishing this year with the abundance of snow pack! Late July and especially August and September will be banner months on the Crystal! No worries about low water or high water temps this year – we can’t wait! The upper river is clear but still awfully fast with not much soft water available. The fishing down here in Carbondale is challenging but doable as soft water slowly opens up. The bugs (caddis, PMDs and green drakes) are certainly out in good numbers right now with afternoons and evenings giving up the best fishing. Look for the best flies to be small/medium sized attractor patterns or smaller streamers. As always, feel free to give us a call for daily river conditions at 970.93.5741
