Crystal River –

Flow: 725 cfs/Redstone, 712 cfs/Carbondale

Conditions: The river has just become fishable recently with our first guide trips going out this past week – and with great success! The upper river is clear with more soft and fishable water opening up daily. Down here in Carbondale the fishing is more challenging as less soft water is to be had but for the adventurous angler opportunities certainly exist. The bugs (caddis, PMDs, green drakes, hoppers) are certainly out in good numbers right now with afternoons and evenings giving up the best fishing. Look for the best flies to be small/medium sized attractor patterns or smaller streamers. Look for fishing to only improve as river begins to drop in volume. Escape the crowds of the Pan and Fork! One of the very few rivers with opportunities for the elusive Colorado Super Slam – catching a whitefish, rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat trout all in a day! No one knows the Crystal River better than the guides at Crystal Fly Shop – let us show you our beautiful namesake river this summer. As always, feel free to give us a call for daily river conditions at 970.93.5741
