Roaring Fork River

Flow: 408/Aspen, 638/Basalt, 935cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: We are still living off the high of the incredible fishing that we’ve had the past three weeks. It has hands-down been the best early summer season of hatches and big fish that we’ve had in several years. We hope you were able to get in on the action. The river has now dropped significantly and the insects are generally smaller, making for more technical fishing than what we’ve had the past few weeks. The fishing has still been damn good but we’re earning the fish again. Think PMDs, caddis and yellow sallies. Below Carbondale the river has been seeing temps climb into the 60’s – get an early morning start and hang it up by the late afternoons and evenings. The upper river is still cool and is just now seeing the superb fishing and hatches that the lower river saw the past few weeks. The epicenter of the green drake hatch is now in the Snowmass/Aspen area.

The fly shop is loaded to the gills with a ton of new fly tying merch, new rods and reels, new logo apparel and so, so much more. Swing by and help support your local independant fly shop!

Our guides know the Roaring Fork River intimately – let us give you the highlight of your vacation!
