Colorado River –

Flow: 1,800 cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: Colorado River brown with about 1-2’ft of visibility. Fishing closures were lifted several weeks ago and fishing has resumed. It’s not easy fishing out there by any means but some fish have been landed recently. Attractor patterns like stoneflies, worms, princes, beaded jigs like perdigons or rain drops and the like are all likely bets. Fall is approaching and the streamer fishing has picked up with the cooler weather. We’re not expecting the river to clear and turn green until post-runoff next year, which will help to flush the debris/mud from the Glenwood Canyon slides earlier this summer.

Flies

Dries: Chubby Chernobyls, Fat Alberts, Panty Dropper Hopper, Rusty Spinners, Para Adams, Klinkhammer BWO

Nymphs: Rubberlegs, 20 Inchers, Princes, San Juan Worms, Perdigons, Rain Drops, Copper John Red,

Streamers: Gongas, Dungeons, Sculpilicious, Sculpzilla, Winter Warlock, Sculpinator, Thin Mint
